Cut the rubber band that is seeking to PULL YOU BACK to the past - October 21, 2025

Published on 21 October 2025 at 06:24

In the upcoming time, an unhealthy habit of yours will be like a tightly stretched rubber band around you that is constantly seeking to pull you back to the past while you are trying to expand beyond it.

It would be best that you take some scissors and you cut this rubber band once and for all in a decisive manner so you immediately sever this tension on your life. Seek to remove everything that is gradually seeking to pull you back to your past, including removing any and all unhealthy habits or connections all at once.

If this proves to be impossible for you, try gently releasing the tension by stretching the rubber band more and more by seeking to move beyond it until finally the elastic weakens and you free yourself from its grip on you.

You should see this deeply ingrained habit loop very much like a pre-programmed GPS route that you will have to break. Since your brain - always seeking to find the easiest route to get to your destination - has found the quickest path for you to always get to your destination which is your old way of being. So remove any and all cues that tend to start this habit loop.

Overtime, this unheathly behavioural pattern has also become a deeply ingrained part of your routine, similarly to a deep groove etched into an old vinyl record. If you want to establish a self-chosen new normal for yourself, you will have to consciously put the needle on a different track. So find new habits that will be just as rewarding to you as the old ones used to be.

Graphic design and marketing ideas

  • The old vs. the new - Create a split-image design showing a person or figure on one side engulfed in dark, chaotic elements representing old habits, and on the other side, emerging into light and vibrant colors symbolizing renewal and new beginnings. This visual can be used for posters or social media campaigns emphasizing transformation.
  • Design a powerful image of hands breaking free from chains or shackles, with fragments falling away to reveal a luminous, free figure behind them. Use dynamic motion and contrasting dark and bright tones to symbolize liberation from past cycles and embracing a new path. Think: motivational banners or inspirational artwork.
  • Paint or design a scene where a barren, wild landscape transitions into a flowing stream or lush oasis, symbolizing the journey from wilderness or difficult seasons to renewal and abundance. This can serve as a calming, hopeful visual for spiritual or motivational messaging.
  • Create an abstract or realistic pathway illuminated by a guiding light, winding through a dark or stormy environment towards a bright horizon. Incorporate symbols like footprints, lanterns, or stepping stones to represent choices and the journey of growth and renewal. Think: inspiring posters, book covers, or branding materials.

Idea to start a painting - “What does the moment of release look like — the exact instant when the tension of an old pattern finally snaps, and space opens for something new to emerge?”
