In the upcoming time, you will find yourself in a turbulent time of rapid change. This could throw you off balance and make you feel disconnected from the genuine flow that once fueled your creativity. But don’t forget that your creativity can be a compass in and of itself to you, and that it can help guide you inward back to the well of imagination that has been with you ever since childhood, and which has gone untapped lately in adulthood.
Follow the calling that used to call to your six-year-old self to give yourself completely to fingerpainting, that used to make you sing from the depths of your soul. Remember what causes you to be fully absorbed in your work, in your creativity? Remember the secret forts under blankets where you came up with the most amazing stories. the collections you proudly kept in shoeboxes under your bed,... This is where your creative roots lie that you need to now tap into again.
It’s time for you to realign with your raw impulses and the environments/conditions that used to make your creativity bloom organically. You have intellectualized your creativity too much and made it another chore to manage, but creativity cannot be contained like that. Creativity longs for you to be inspired through intuition and play, through you coloring outside the lines.
So shed self-judgment, deadlines and objectives for a season as you would your shoes on the beach as a child. Instead, dig your toes into the sand of the place in which your inner muse first inspired you to create. Tend again to those shelved passions that now lie abandoned like a guitar or an easel in an attic or basement. They are waiting to be reclaimed by you in their original spirit.
Creativity does not require for it to become a product, nor does it require any form of external reward, compensation, or validation - such as money, recognition or approval - to justify the time spent in creative efforts. True creativity is valuable in itself, without needing to result in something tangible or profitable.
Give yourself permission to purely play and experiment in realms of self-expression without inner critics hijacking that long-lost joy with ‘shoulds’. Immerse fully without overthinking. In that flow you reconnect again to the core of your creative roots. Align first there, and guidance on which works to nurture into maturity will organically be understood by you. Productivity is abundance, not pressure or stress.
